Using MythTV for DVB-T2 (Freeview HD)

Freeview HD is a terrestrial broadcast which can be be picked up using your normal TV aerial. No satellite dish is required. It is now being broadcast in many areas of Britain. Use the following checker to see what channels are available in your area:

Freeview HD uses the DVB-T2 standard. Support for Freeview HD in Linux is still in its infancy and will not currently work out-of-the-box in Ubuntu, but with a little work you should be able to get it going. There are now a number of tuners with Linux driver support. See the following guide for details:

Alternatively, you can go down the route of Freesat HD, which is already well supported.
